Taping for Angel Heart Foundation

I am so touched to have been able to share my personal story on a taped segment that will be featured on an amazing website dedicated to spotlighting those who have chosen to make a difference. I would like to thank Marion Witte & Brian for digging deep and peeling back the layers that so often I hide behind. You both have moved me and I am blessed to have you both as a part of my life. Marion Witte is the author of Little Madhouse On The Prairie and the founder of her own non-profit, the Angel Hear Foundation. The mission of the Angel Heart Foundation is to be involved in activities that create a more kind, compassionate and peaceful world through Conscious Parenting, Youth Empowerment and Creative Education. Marion and myself both had very challenging and tragic childhoods to say the least. We both have dedicated our lives to improving the lives of children. In Marion's video, I discussed the difficulties I faced being a homeless and neglected child and how the challenges I faced still affect me today. The goal of Marion's video is to educate people on the horrors facing todays neglected children and to encourage viewers to do their part to help.

Chili's St Jude Children's Hospital Fundraiser

I really enjoyed eating at Chili's with friends & family for such a great cause. St Jude Children's Hospital is sure to benefit from the money raised last night. The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. No child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay. St Jude seeks to cure and enhance the quality of life for an increasing proportion of children who come to them for treatment, and by expanding and sharing knowledge, to advance treatment of children with catastrophic diseases worldwide, while developing strategies to prevent catastrophic diseases in children.

Miss Congeniality Boutique Fashion Show

I had the pleasure of being a model at the Miss Congeniality Boutique Fashion Show this past Sunday. Toay Foster, the lovely store owner of Miss Congeniality and Executive Director of Miss & Teen Greater Ventura County, Miss & Teen Regional California, Miss & Teen Los Angeles County, Miss & Teen Santa Barbara County, Miss & Teen Regional Coastal Cities, and Miss & Teen Hollywood Pageants really knows how to put together an event. There was standing room only as we took to the runway to show off the stores beautiful gowns.

E- Waste Clean Up Event with Jobs Daughters

Just a few hours ago I was able to participate in the E- Waste Clean Up Event with Jobs Daughters. Job's Daughters perform service projects to help their community and the less fortunate. These lovely young ladies helped put together this event to help save our environment by collecting and recycling TVs, computers, and other electronics. I would like to thank Emily Krakower for introducing me to this event today. I am very proud of all that you are doing!

California Coastal Clean-Up Day

California Coastal Cleanup Day is an annual beach and inland waterway cleanup and it is the state's largest volunteer event. I was up bright and early yesterday to participate in the California Coastal Clean-Up Day. The amount of trash that was picked up in the water way was unreal. It is important that we all work together to make sure that our trash does not find its way to the sea. If you want to find out how you can help, check out:

Miss California Intl 2012

This past weekend I participated in the 2012 Miss California International Pageant at the Embassy Suites in Downey, California. The first night was the Gala Awards Dinner where the special awards were handed out. In the Miss division, the beautiful Shelby Irey was honored with the photogenic award. Congratulations to the community service award winners for their endless commitments to their platforms: Julie Rossini, Brooke Conlin, and Meghan Lopez. I am humbled to say that I was honored with the very first Josephine G.Cook Community Service Award for my efforts with Luggage of Love. My heart dropped when I received a plaque with my name engraved on it. I can not express how thankful I am to be blessed with this award, I am truly speechless. Thank you Eddie Peterson for everything, but most importantly for keeping the legacy of your mother alive through your foundation. I know she is proud of all that you are and all that you do. Courtney Critz (a.k.a. "my little sister"), Jr. Miss California Intl 2011 was also honored for her continual efforts with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. "Cha Cha", you are true inspiration to me, I love you. I am honored to be a part of the International Pageant System and all that it stands for. The next morning was the one-on-one interview with the judges and then it was on to Finals. Finals Night was a VERY intense competition! All of the girls competed in their respective areas of competition; Fun Fashion, Evening Gown, and Fitness. The Top 5 of each division were called and from there each finalist answered their on-stage question. So many wonderful women and young ladies were competing their hearts out to win one of the four coveted California International titles. In the Miss division, the 4th Runner-up was my dear friend Meghan Lopez; 3rd Runner-up was Brooke Conlin; 2nd Runner-up was Kaitlin Cooksey; and the 1st Runner-up was Alesha Darby. I am so honored to say that at the end of the night I was awarded with the title of Miss California International 2012!!!!!

At this point there are so many people I want to thank. First off, I would like to thank my Forever Family for adopting me into their lives and into their hearts. You have given me more than any little girl could ask for. Eddie Peterson, thank you for putting on such an amazing pageant. You are the best director any titleholder can ask for and you are an even better friend. Thank you for inspiring me to do my best every day. To my judges: Sheryl Ellison, Susan G. Botek, Tarron Rilry, Raeanne Duca, and Dr. Andrew Thorn: THANK YOU SO MUCH! I hope to make you proud this year of your decision and I will use this title to its fullest. I also want to thank Austin Ryde. Words can not express how thankful I am that you are in my corner. You are such a talented hair & make-up artist! Tiffany, Grammy, Carson, and Cha-Cha: I love you all so much! Thank you for all of your
time, love, belief and support. You are all true blessings in my life. Thank you to Judy Wright and the Wright Family for your kind words and continual support over the years. Alos, thank you to Dennis Cooke, Chantz, Gini and Jessica, Jim Monte, and every person along the way who has made this such a memorable experience. I love you all!! I feel so blessed.
